Information about cookies

Cookie policy

This Policy applies to cookies and applies to the web pages of the portal with all its sub-domains, which are owned by the Society of Jesus Province of Southern Poland with its registered office in Kraków (hereinafter: the “Websites”).

What are cookies?

Cookies are IT data, in particular text files stored on the users’ terminal equipment for the use of websites. These files allow for the recognition of the user’s device and the appropriate display of a website tailored to the user’s individual preferences. “Cookies” usually contain the name of the website they come from, the time they are stored on the terminal device and a unique number.

What do we use cookies for?

Cookies are used to adapt the content of websites to your preferences and to optimise the use of websites. They are also used to create anonymous, aggregated statistics which help to understand how the user uses websites to improve their structure and content, excluding personal identification of the user.

What kind of “cookies” do we use?

We use two types of “cookies” – “session” and “permanent”. The first are temporary files that remain on the user’s device until they log off from the website or switch off the software (web browser). “Permanent” files remain on the user’s device for the time specified in the parameters of “cookies” or until they are manually deleted by the user.

The “cookies” used by the website operator’s partners, including website users in particular, are subject to their own privacy policies.

Do cookies contain personal data?

Personal data collected using “cookies” can only be collected for the purpose of performing specific functions for the user. Such data is encrypted in such a way that it cannot be accessed by unauthorised persons.

Deletion of cookies

By default, your web browsing software allows the placement of “cookies” on your terminal device. These settings can be changed in such a way as to block the automatic handling of “cookies” in the settings of your web browser or to inform you each time they are sent to your device. Detailed information on the possibility and methods of handling cookies is available in the settings of your software (web browser).

Restricting the use of “cookies” may affect some of the functionalities available on the website.
