20-PL THE OASIS IN THE HEART OF THE CITY

Do you sometimes notice that your life is a big race? Day after day you are still in a hurry. You are running from home to work and back, eager for silence.

Would you like to stop for a while?

There’s such a place in the heart of Warsaw, where the time flows slower. There you can meet with yourself, God and other people. Brothers and sisters give glory to God through common prayer, work and community life.

We’re inviting you to the Monastic Fraternities of Jerusalem.

Their founder priest Pierre-Marie Delfieux has spent two years on the Sahara. His only companions were the Eucharist and Bible. He found there that the true desert of the contemporary world is the city marked by loneliness, indifference and fear. Cities are eager for silence, peace and human kindness.

Brothers and sisters create an oasis of silence and prayer in the middle of the city. Their liturgy draws abundantly from the richness of the Eastern and Western Church. On Mondays they have their weekly desert day filled with silence.

In this experiment you are invited to taste the monastic spirit through silence, adoration of Christ, lectio divina and minor works in the monastery. This time will be also the occasion for integration with the community members and Magis people. You will have the opportunity for sightseeing in Warsaw too.

The only thing you should have is the desire to get into silence and openness for new experiences.
