6-PL PRAYER OF THE HEART

The experiment is an invitation to spend 4 days in silence and to discover a form of prayer practiced since antiquity, mainly in the Eastern monastic tradition, known as „pure prayer”, „prayer of the heart” or „Jesus prayer”. It involves a renunciation of reflection and imagination in prayer, so as to cultivate attentiveness and awareness of God’s presence within oneself and in the world around us. It may lead to a gradual transformation of our way of being and acting in the world by becoming contemplative and able to find God in all things. The retreat house placed in the midst of beautiful nature will present a good opportunity to discover God’s presence in His creation. The retreat is proposed especially for those who already have an experience of personal silent prayer (e.g. the Spiritual Exercises), who search for a simplification of their prayer and for a more direct relationship with God, who are ready to give up, for the time of the retreat, traditional forms of meditation and reflection and to discover a different way of staying in God’s presence.
